Karnala fort trek is one of the easiest treks around Mumbai. Apart from the scenic beauty this trek offers, there is also a strategic location benefit to the same.

Korigad/Kumvarigad Trek

It is not a very long trek. Maximum time it may take to reach the top from Peth-Shahapur is about an hour. Korigad fort had its beauty once when it was in its full colors. Today it is but remains of the glories of the past. The route to the top is beautiful and you will see why it had a location importance.

Peb Fort / Vikatgad Trek

If you visit this fort during monsoon, just walk out of Neral railway station and ask for the waterfall. The way along the waterfall goes through forests and it’s not possible to proceed along this way. Whereas the way along the towers is very very lengthy and there is a diversion on this route, which go towards Panvel. One might get lost on this way

Kalsubai Trek

Not as high as the Himalayas but being the highest peak in the Sahayaradri mountain ranges, at over 5400ft, some pax may feel lack of oxygen after the long climb. Reach the top and feel proud, as you are higher than any natural or manmade structure for at-least a good 770kms till you reach Mount Abu.

Rajmachi Trek

Rajmachi still remains as one of the most sought after trekking destination for it’s a perfect mix of history with nature. There are a couple of route to the top. You can take the Tungarli route which is a bit longer and may take around 6 hours through the rocky trek routes. The route via Karjat is shorter and takes about 5 hours to reach the top.

Tung/Kathingad Trek

The literal meaning of KATHINgad suggests that this  is gonna be a real kathin/difficult trek, but it is not the case in reality. This was one of the forts handed over to the Mughals according to the Treaty of Purandar. . The intentions of this watch tower cum fort were to keep a keen eye over the region.
